The Doors

The Doors were formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, with vocalist Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore. They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s mostly because of Morrison's wild & poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. The band took its name from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception. The remaining members continued as a trio after Morrison's death in 1971, until finally disbanding in 1973.
