Marilyn Monroe was an American singer, model and actress, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a lot of commercially successful movies during the 1950s and early 1960s. Monroe began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1946 with 20th Century fox. Some of her greatest motion pictures included All About Eve, Niagara and The Asphalt Jungle among others. Her "dumb blonde" persona was used in films such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) and The Seven Year Itch (1955). We still believe that Monroe's best performance was in "Some Like It Hot".
